‘Misplaced’ is an intensely personal song for me. I wrote the lyrics when I was in a dark place in my life. I was dealing with the aftermath of a breakup and since music is a form of therapy for me, those emotions leaked into this song. I was dealing with a lot of guilt even though I was the one responsible for ending the relationship. So I painted this picture in my head of myself as some kind of villain, but ultimately it just came down to the fact that emotionally I wasn’t in the right place at the right time in my life.
‘Misplaced’ was originally recorded during the ‘Here And Now’ album sessions, but was ultimately put aside for a stand alone release. ‘Misplaced’ is definitely no B-side, I’m very proud of it, but I thought that it didn’t quite fit in on the album. It stands on its own feet as a relatively straight forward, in your face kind of song but has a lot of soul and emotional depth to it.
